Coach Bios

Brian Graham is the head coach of the University of Louisville Ice Hockey Program. Coach Graham is originally from Connecticut, and began playing hockey at the age of five. He played throughout his high school years for the Sheehan Titans in Wallingford, CT, where he was a four year letterman. He led his team as captain for two years, after earning great respect from both his peers and his coaches. Coach Graham then continued his ice hockey career at the University of Kentucky while majoring in, and receiving his degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Business. Following his graduation from the University of Kentucky, Coach Graham went on to coach ice hockey at his Alma Mater, U of K, for two years. He coached them through two winning seasons, before moving back to Connecticut. While in CT, Coach Graham coached both at the high school level and the midget AAA level. Coach Graham currently lives in Louisville with his wife, Barbara, and two young children. He currently runs a successful insurance agency here in Louisville, and is excited to be coaching college level ice hockey once again. Coach Graham is looking forward to helping to bring the University of Louisville Ice Hockey Program to a new level.

  Aaron Stephenson joins the University of Louisville Hockey staff this season as an assistant coach. Aaron hails from Kalamazoo, MI where he started playing his youth hockey at an early age. He played for Portage Central High School where he was a 4 year letterman and an alternate captain his senior year. Aaron continued his hockey career in Lexington playing for the University of Kentucky, where he captained the team his junior and senior seasons. Following his college career Aaron continued to work with the Kentucky team as an assistant before making his way to Louisville, where he now calls home. He brings his collegiate experience and strong leadership skills to the staff in hopes of taking the University of Louisville Program to new heights.

Justin Smither returns to the University of Louisville Hockey staff this season for another year as assistant coach. Justin was born and raised in Louisville, KY where he competed in the Midget A and AA programs. Following high school he joined the University of Kentucky Hockey program, where he was alternate captain his final two seasons. After earning his degree in business from the university Coach Smither returned to Louisville where he took a head coaching position during the infancy of high school hockey in the state of Kentucky. Justin hopes to grow this program into a yearly ACHA contender and keep it at a level that his hometown expects from Louisville athletics.
